Learning Ladder Nursery has been awash with pinks and reds as the children celebrate love and friendship in time for Valentine’s Day.

The scent of freshly baked goods made everybody hungry ,with children participating in decorating  the Valentine’s goodies for their mummies and daddies, as well as making them themed cards.

Nursery Manager Ms Nazima at cluster V JLT said: “The promotion of friendship is something that we encourage throughout a child’s journey with us at Learning Ladder Nursery in  JLT, Dubai. Valentine’s celebrations are an ideal opportunity to explore the importance of friendship further, in a meaningful way. We know parents value the lovely handcrafted cards created for them.”

On 12th of May we celebrated Book Character Day at the nursery in cluster V, JLT, where the children all dressed as their favorite book characters and brought their favorite book to read in class.

We had lots of beautiful princesses, a ladybird, a few firemen, Little Red Riding Hood, two Mr Men, two frogs and much much more! We held a ‘Character parade’ outside the nursery to show our costumes, residents of JLT.

So much effort made by our lovely parents meant that our children had a fantastic day!

At learning Ladder Nursery JLT cluster V, our April theme is ‘Transport’ and as part of this topic we took our children to Al Manara Fire Station on a field trip. The children learnt about a lot of other modes of transport along the way. They traveled all together with their friends and teachers in an RTA mini bus, they drove along Sheikh Zayed Road pointing out the Metro, cars, buses, motorbikes and taxis on route to the Fire Station.

We were met by the chief of the fire station who showed us around their fire engines, let the children have a turn sitting on the truck, trying on the firemen’s helmets and even using the fireman’s hose! They met the Al Manara fire man character who came out to shake each of their hands, which the children all loved. We then went into the Fire Station cinema room to watch some cartoons about Fire Safety at home. We had snack time at the Fire Station amongst the firemen before returning on the bus, singing songs and pointing out what other forms of transport we could see!

We had a fun team-building day on Tuesday with the help and guidance of our favourite sports activity coach, Coach Ramon from Ball Skills. Our little stars competed in a variety of activities ranging from baton relay to running an obstacle course.

Not only did the little ones have fun, but also our lovely parents who competed in Tug of War.

Thank you parents for the support on the day. We received lots of praise for this fun morning and we look forward to doing this again next year.

With shiny eyes, big smiles and eager hearts our little stars loved learning, petting and feeding the furry and feathery visitors from Posh Paws at our nursery/daycare.

They met Billy the goat, Jason the dog as well as a hamster, guinea pig, two ducks, tortoise, chicken, parrot, cat and a rabbit.

In Dubai we are all so blessed to be living side by side with people from different countries and cultures. We celebrated International Day at our nursery in cluster V, JLT today, by dressing up in our traditional costumes and share yummy snacks from our home country with our friends.

“Pancake Day or Shrove Tuesday is a special day celebrated in many countries around the world. It is celebrated in English-speaking countries like the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada. In some countries, like France and the USA, it is called ‘Mardi Gras’ or ‘Fat Tuesday’. In other countries, like Spain, Italy or Brazil, Shrove Tuesday is at the end of Carnival. On this day many people eat pancakes, a thin, flat cake made in a pan.
Pancake Day is always on a Tuesday in February or March. It is the day before Ash Wednesday, the start of Lent. Lent is a period of 40 days before Easter when people often give up or stop eating things that are bad for them like chocolate or fast food. At the end of Lent is Easter. Easter takes place on a different date each year because it depends on the moon. Easter Sunday is the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. Traditionally, during Lent, people didn’t eat rich foods like butter and eggs, so they made pancakes from these ingredients on Shrove Tuesday.“ – British Council
In celebration of Pancake Day, we at our nursery in JLT cluster of jumeirah lakes towers, made delicious pancakes and decorated them with yummy icing sugar, strawberries, jam and sprinkles.

We shared and showed our love by dressing in Pink and Red clothes. We made hearts and painted marble paintings for the people we love. The nursery in JLT cluster V, was decorated with love hearts of red and pink to show all our Learning Ladder family we love them.

We celebrated Chinese New Year at our nursery in JLT, Dubai, UAE,  the year of the Monkey by painting monkey masks and making Chinese lanterns and colourful fans. The children looked at Chinese writing and the meaning of the New Year celebrations. We dressed in Chinese traditional clothes, the children enjoyed the music of China.
